使用时注意主谓一致当主语是可数名词单数或不可数名词时，be 动词用 is

There is some soup in the bowl. 碗里有些汤。当主语是可数名词复数时，其 be 动词就用 are
There are two children in the room. 房间里有两个孩子。

Goldilocks and the three bears
Goldilocks is lost in the forest. She is very hungry. She looks around and finds a beautiful house. She goes into the house. There are three bowls of soup on the table. But the first soup is too hot. and the second soup is too cold. The third soup is just right. She eats up the soup.
She feels very tired. She wants to sleep. She goes into the bedroom. There are three beds. The first bed is too hard. The second bed is too soft. She doesn't like them. The third is just right. She sleeps in it.
The three bears come back. Goldilocks opens her eyes. The three bears are in front of her. Goldilocks is very afraid. She runs away quickly.
